iPhone 11 Pro vs Pixel 4: Camera(s)

Next, we want to briefly mention the cameras on these two devices. Obviously, we won't get into which is better, as that's subjective and they both have different strengths and weaknesses.

iPhone 11 - Three rear cameras:

  • Main 12MP f/1.8
  • Ultra-wide 12MP f/2.4
  • Telephoto 12MP f/2.0

Apple announced powerful new camera controls, a new app, night mode (finally) and several other improvements that makes this far and long the best iPhone camera ever created. Which, it should be, being their latest and greatest phone. We really like the optical zoom on that telephoto lens, giving photographers more options than ever.

Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL - Dual rear cameras:

  • Main 12.3MP f/1.7 sensor
  • 16MP Telephoto f/2.4 lens
  • tons of computational photography

As you can see both phones offer an excellent main camera that's fast and capable, then a secondary photo to help users capture more of a story, moment, or memory. They're just going about it differently.

Google's using more and more software, machine learning, and computational photography to make its cameras great. They announced a neat live HDR+ option, improved night mode, a motion-mode, astrophotography controls, and a few other neat tricks for the Pixel 4 cameras.

We have a feeling these two phones will go toe-to-toe in terms of who has the best camera, and it'll all come down to personal needs or preferences. All said and done, you'll be happy with either of these camera setups.
